June 1 Update-New Temporary Hours

Hello to all our WLRC family.

Starting today, we will begin a gradual return to normal activities. We are now open to take telephone orders and for curbside pickup during our new temporary business hours of 10AM-3PM Monday through Friday. We will temporarily be closed on Saturday until further notice. Our in-store showroom will also remain closed for the time being; i.e., we will not have coins in the display cases but will have supplies, etc. available as normal. Coin and currency items will be made available per specific request for now. If you have specific needs or any questions just give us a call or email. If you have items to sell, call us to arrange an appointment. Keep returning to this page for all the latest updates.

Thanks and be well!

Follow Up #4...Mandate Extended To May 30, But...

Greetings again!

The Governor who shall not be named has extended the COVID-19 Mandate through May 30 so our storefront will remain closed through that date...however, we are permitted to take phone or online orders and bring them out to the curb for you. So, if you need something feel free to call or email us to inquire. FYI, we will be closed on Saturdays until the storefront reopens.

Also, we are offering items through our eBay store. Just search for our user ID, which is badges1. Lots of cool Civil War images, related items and other collectibles are up for auction right now, with more to come. We can ship any wins or you can come pick them up.

We are still waiting on silver proof sets. Prices may fluctuate on these due to scarcity. Stay tuned.

Be sure to check our site here for more updates as we have them.

Thanks and be well!

Follow Up #3- US Mint Suspending Production

Greetings to our WLRC Family.

The US Mint has announced that it will continue to produce the usual coins for general circulation but it has suspended production of all numismatic items for the time being. That means that anything scheduled to be released beyond the 2020 Silver Proof Set (Apr.17 release date) is in limbo, and even then the Silver Proof Sets will be hard to get as availability is only 190,000 or so sets at present. That said, the Mint may resume production later this year. We have a standing initial order that we hope to get and will inform you of same. People who want 2020 Mint Sets or any other items not yet released are encouraged to check back with us and we will inform you as more information becomes available. It's entirely possible that some 2020 issues may end up being rare.

Westlake Rare Coins remains closed though at least April 30th as per state mandate but keep checking this blog for more updates on the evolving COVID-19 situation. Thanks for your patience and support. We will all get through this together and come out stronger on the other side.

Thanks and be well.
