Closed Thursday 2/3/22 Due To Snow Event

Hello!

We have decided to be closed Thursday, Feb. 3 so that road crews can catch up with plowing the roads and parking lots after the snow storm event. The snow has subsided but they still have a lot of work to do, so it behooves us to stay off the roads as much as possible so they can do their work. We're going to reassess things Friday morning and update you here on the website. If you call the shop during business hours and hear a message directing you here, you may safely assume that we are closed for the day.

Thanks and be safe out there!

Closed Wednesday 2/2 Due To Weather

Hello All:

We will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 2 due to the ongoing snowstorm event. Please come back here tomorrow to check with us as we will reevaluate the situation Thursday morning and then post updates on both this page and the home page. If you call the shop and still get a recorded message sending you here, you may safely assume we are closed for the day. Hopefully the snow will subside by Thursday allowing road crews to make things passable including our parking lot. Today's a good day to stay home and travel only if necessary.

Thanks for your patience. Update forthcoming tomorrow morning.

Regards

Jack

Feb. 1 Update- Snow Storm Event

Hello everyone!

As most of you know, a major snowstorm has been forecast for our area starting tonight (Feb, 1), through Thursday Feb, 3rd, with as much as a foot of snow or more possible. This combined with 20- 30 mph winds and the associated blowing and drifting will make travel difficult if not impossible. We are monitoring the situation and will make a decision Wednesday morning as to whether or not we will be able to open for business. We will likewise reassess the situation Thursday. If you call the store during business hours tomorrow or Thursday and get a message directing you here it is safe to assume we are closed for the day. We will continue to update here on the blog page as appropriate. Be safe out there!

Thanks

Jack and Dennis

Happy 2022! New Year, New Coins!

Hello All:

2022 is finally here and with it comes new coin releases throughout the year. We now have some 2022 uncirculated Silver Eagles available. No definitive word on proof sets, etc. yet from the mint other than "Spring 2022", but we will advise as we have more info. We have just acquired some one ounce Krugerrands and Maple Leafs. We also added some more collectible US gold coins in various denominations. Limited quantities so be sure to stop by for a look while they're still available!

That's all for now. We look forward to serving you throughout 2022!

A New Year And New Coins Are Coming!

Hello All:

Hopefully you and yours all enjoyed Christmas as much as we did. Now we're looking at a new year and new coins soon to come along with it! A couple of quick updates... 2022 regular Silver Eagles should be released mid-January and we will try to have them ASAP. Give us a call or email for details and we will advise when we have them. If you missed a couple of things before Christmas, we still have a small quantity remaining of 2021 proof sets and a few of the 2021 Morgan Dollars in all mintmarks except Carson City. We're also temporarily out of the 2021 Peace Dollars but will see what we can obtain at reasonable price levels on both these and the CC Morgan issue if we have enough requests. If you are still looking for one...let us know. Details on 2022 Proof Sets, etc. as soon as available. US Gold has been selling but (for now at least) we still have a good selection.

Thanks to all of you for another great year of loyal patronage.  You are the reason WLRC has existed for what will soon be 34 years! Gee, where has the time gone? We started off with 700 square feet, 4 tiny display cases, one ancient coin counting machine and a dream... now we're the oldest and largest coin dealer in Central Illinois. And we have you to thank.

Happy New Year from your friends at Westlake Rare Coins.
